Pemba Island
A beach resort on Pemba best known for its floating underwater sea room.
Pemba is the northernmost island of the Zanzibar archipelago, hillier and greener than Unguja and far less visited. Clove plantations cover the interior, while the west coast has coves, mangroves and clear water for diving and snorkeling off Misali Island.
There are only a few small luxury properties on Pemba, and most are on the southwest coast, reached by boat or a short flight from Zanzibar. They tend to be remote and focus on the sea.
Facilities beyond the lodges are limited, and getting there takes some planning. The best diving conditions are generally from October to March.
