Mnemba is a tiny private island off the northeast coast of Zanzibar, ringed by white sand and a protected reef. It has a single lodge, so the whole place feels like a private hideaway, with snorkeling and diving over a reef that is a marine conservation area.

Where to stay

The island's lodge has just 12 secluded bandas under the palms, steps from the beach. Activities include snorkeling, swimming, kayaking and scuba diving, and guests are brought over by boat from the main island.
