Rebuilt after an earthquake in 1960, Agadir is a modern resort city with a wide promenade along a six-mile beach and more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The restored kasbah on the hill offers views over the bay, and the Souk El Had is one of the largest markets in Morocco. The surf villages of Taghazout and the Paradise Valley lie just to the north.
