Boutique hotels in Tela

Tela is a relaxed Caribbean-coast town with a long beach, a seafront promenade and Garifuna villages along the coast. The Lancetilla botanical garden, one of the largest in the tropics, and Punta Sal National Park, where trails and boat trips lead to a wildlife-rich peninsula, are close by.

Where to stay

The notable address is Indura Beach & Golf Resort, part of Hilton's Curio Collection, a larger beachfront resort with several pools, five dining options and a golf course. It is more a resort than a boutique hotel, but it is the standout and the only well-sourced option here. In town, simpler guesthouses suit budget travelers.

Good to know

Tela is about an hour and a half from San Pedro Sula and a convenient north-coast base. The best months are February to May. Visit Garifuna villages with a local guide, and check official travel advice before traveling.
