Uepi Island
A small, privately run bungalow resort on a barrier-reef island at the edge of Marovo Lagoon, known for diving at Uepi Point.
Uepi is a small raised barrier-reef island on the edge of Marovo Lagoon, covered with rainforest and sandy beaches, with calm lagoon water on one side and open ocean on the other. A drop-off on the ocean side plunges roughly 2,000 meters, and the channel mouth at Uepi Point is known for reef sharks and big fish. Walks, kayaking and a coconut crab walk add to the days.
Uepi Island Resort is a small, privately run, bungalow-style resort. Sources list six bungalows, two dual-unit bungalows and two guest rooms, with around 26 beds in total, and about 20 guests count as a full house. Meals use local produce and seafood, and the resort has a bar, free Wi-Fi and laundry. There are no televisions in the rooms.
Guests normally fly from Honiara to Seghe by light plane, then take a boat of about 12 kilometers. One older listing quoted prices from US$260 for a double bungalow. Check the resort's website for current rates.
