A rustic retreat near Naro Moru on the slopes of Mount Kenya.
Nanyuki straddles the equator at about 6,400 feet, a market and garrison town with views of Mount Kenya's peaks on clear mornings. It is the jumping-off point for Ol Pejeta, Lewa, Borana and the Laikipia ranches, and its cafés, craft shops and markets make it a pleasant stop. Climbing routes up the mountain also start nearby.
