Koh Kood
A beachfront resort on Klong Chao Beach with a spa and restaurant.
Koh Kood lies in the Gulf of Thailand close to the Cambodian border, and it remains wonderfully undeveloped. Rainforest covers much of the island, rivers spill over waterfalls into the sea, and its beaches, such as Klong Chao and Ao Tapao, are quiet and clean.
Resorts are spread along the west coast, many with their own beach. The island has few roads and almost no nightlife.
Speedboats run from Laem Sok near Trat, which is about five hours from Bangkok by road or an hour by plane. Some services slow down from June to September.
