The best destinations in Central African Republic

The Central African Republic is one of the least visited countries in Africa, with a large part of its territory under armed groups. Most governments advise against travel, and tourism infrastructure is almost nonexistent.

Dzanga-Sangha

In the southwest corner, Dzanga-Sangha is a protected area of rainforest, home to forest elephants, western lowland gorillas and the Dzanga Bai, a forest clearing where elephants gather. A small lodge has operated here, normally reached via Cameroon.
