The Crimson Jasper

Jasper

A modern, moderately priced hotel in the center of town, with an indoor pool and suites with kitchenettes.

Jasper National Park is the largest park in the Canadian Rockies, a vast area of peaks, glaciers, canyons and lakes. The Icefields Parkway links it with Banff, passing the Columbia Icefield, and Maligne Lake and Maligne Canyon are among its most famous sights. Wildlife is plentiful, and the park is a dark-sky preserve.

Where to stay

The small town of Jasper is the main base, with restaurants and shops. Lodges and cabins outside town are close to the lakes and trails.

Good to know

A major wildfire in 2024 damaged parts of the town and the park, so check which services and trails are open before you go. Summer and early autumn are the main seasons, and winter brings skiing at Marmot Basin.
