Phang Nga
Fifty-six low-rise residences on a secluded white-sand beach in Khao Lak, known for warm, personal service.
Phang Nga province, just north of Phuket, has two faces. Phang Nga Bay is a seascape of hundreds of limestone islands and sea caves, best explored by kayak. Khao Lak, to the north, is a long, uncrowded coastline backed by rainforest and the gateway to the Similan and Surin islands, among Thailand's best diving.
Khao Lak's beaches have some of the most relaxed small resorts on the Andaman coast. Phang Nga Bay is usually visited by boat from Phuket or Krabi.
The Similan Islands are open from mid-October to mid-May. Khao Lak is about an hour north of Phuket airport.
