A four-star hotel close to the Dalí House-Museum, with an outdoor pool.
Cadaqués sits at the end of a winding road on the Cap de Creus peninsula, the easternmost point of mainland Spain. Its white houses, slate beaches and harbor of fishing boats have drawn artists for a century, above all Salvador Dalí, whose house in neighboring Portlligat is now a museum.
The village's hotels are small and personal, many adults-only, with terraces and pools looking out over the bay. The Cap de Creus natural park, with its wind-sculpted rocks and hidden coves, is right on the doorstep.
Cadaqués is about two and a half hours from Barcelona by car. Book the Dalí house museum in advance; visits are in small groups.
