Haro's first wine-themed stay, with a cellar, tastings and suites close to the old town.
Haro is the heart of Rioja Alta, home to a cluster of century-old wineries around its railway station, the Barrio de la Estación. Many of Rioja's most famous names have their bodegas here, and most offer tours and tastings within walking distance of one another.
Haro's small hotels are in its old town, a compact center of stone mansions and plazas, while some of the region's most striking wine hotels are a short drive away in the surrounding villages and vineyards.
The Batalla del Vino, the wine battle at the end of June, turns the town purple. The grape harvest in September and October is the best time to visit.
