Playa Las Flores is a wide, pale-sand bay on El Salvador's far eastern coast, near El Cuco, with wave breaks at one end and calm swimming water at the other. It sits well away from the busier western beaches, and the road from San Miguel passes fishing villages and coconut groves.

Las Flores is a luxury beach resort with only 15 sea-facing rooms and a spa, regarded as possibly the most luxurious beach stay in the country and relatively new. A guide quotes rates starting at about US$330 a night. Hotel Miraflores, a boutique hotel on the bay with a pool, is a more modest option.
Good to know
This side of the country is a long drive from the capital, around three hours, so plan to stay at least two nights. Visit in the dry season from November to April. Swimming conditions change, so check with your hotel about currents.
