Boutique hotels in Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands are coral atolls of white sand and lagoon blue, with very few places to stay and a quiet, traditional pace.

7 boutique hotels handpicked

The Marshall Islands are 29 coral atolls and five islands scattered across the central Pacific, ringed by reef and enclosing wide, clear lagoons. The land is barely above sea level, with palms and white coral sand, and the sea dominates every view. Life revolves around the lagoon and the community, and traditional outrigger sailing canoes are still built and raced.

Majuro

The capital atoll is a long, thin ribbon of land with a lagoon on one side and the ocean on the other. It has the country's international airport, a handful of hotels and guesthouses, and diving and fishing operators. Beach resorts and rental houses offer more relaxed stays on its quieter islets.

Arno Atoll

A short boat ride from Majuro, Arno is a quieter, more traditional atoll of small villages and white-sand beaches. A few beach houses and a lodge welcome guests, but facilities are very basic.

Good to know

Choices are limited, so book ahead and confirm everything with the host. Some atolls are reached only by boat or infrequent flights. Check official travel advice and the history of nuclear testing on some atolls before choosing an island.

When to go

The weather is warm year-round, with the drier season from December to April.
