Ubud (Bali) · 25 rooms
A secluded, family-owned resort of private-pool villas overlooking the Petanu River valley.
Ubud has been Bali's cultural heart for a century, drawing painters, musicians and, more recently, yoga and wellness travelers. Its palace, temples and nightly dance performances sit within a landscape of terraced rice fields and deep, forested river valleys, where many of the island's most beautiful small resorts are found.
The town center is lively and walkable but busy with traffic. The Ayung and Petanu river valleys, Sayan and the villages around Ubud offer more space, views and peace, usually with a shuttle into town.
The Tegallalang and Jatiluwih rice terraces are best visited early. The dry season from April to October is the most pleasant, though Ubud's hills are greener and cooler than the coast all year.
