Uluru
A small, design-led hotel within the Ayers Rock Resort complex at Yulara.
Uluru rises from the desert in the Northern Territory, a sacred site for the Anangu people and one of Australia's most powerful landscapes. Accommodation is limited: most visitors stay in the resort village at Yulara, but a small luxury camp of tented suites sits on a dune with a direct view of the rock.
The camp is the most distinctive option; Yulara has hotels and apartments for those who prefer a more central base for tours, camel rides and the Field of Light installation.
Uluru is best in the cooler months (May to September), when daytime walking is comfortable; summer heat can be dangerous. Climbing Uluru has been closed since 2019.
