Kopaonik
A sleek alpine retreat mixing mid-century style with mountain-lodge warmth, with ski-in, ski-out access and a spa.
Kopaonik is a long mountain range in southern Serbia and the country's premier ski resort, with a season that typically runs from December to March. In summer it turns to hiking, mountain biking and cool air.
The resort is a purpose-built village at altitude, so most hotels are within reach of the lifts. Look for properties with ski-in access and a spa for après-ski.
Kopaonik is roughly three to four hours from Belgrade by road. The nearby monasteries of Studenica and Žiča, and the spa town of Vrnjačka Banja, are rewarding detours. Ski-season weekends are busy.
