A grand, family-run hotel in a quiet setting above the lake with its own ski lift.
St. Moritz has been an Alpine resort since 1864, and it hosted the Winter Olympics twice. The village sits above a lake in the high, sunny Engadine valley, with a cluster of historic grand hotels and several smaller design-led places.
St. Moritz Dorf, at the top of the hill, is close to shops and the Corviglia funicular. St. Moritz Bad, by the lake, is quieter and has the thermal baths. Suvretta and the Champfèr area are residential and peaceful.
The resort runs from December to April and again in July and August for hiking and mountain biking. The Glacier Express and Bernina Express trains both pass through the Engadine.
