Lyngen Alps · 8 rooms
A family-owned, all-inclusive lodge with eight en-suite rooms for 16 guests, a sauna and a fjord-facing hot tub.
The Lyngen Alps rise straight from the fjord in northern Norway, a range of glaciated peaks famous for ski touring, mountaineering and northern lights. The roads are quiet, and the fjords are rich in whales and sea eagles.
Lyngen Lodge is the one clearly boutique choice, a family-owned luxury lodge with eight rooms for up to 16 guests. It runs on an all-inclusive basis, with a sauna and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the fjord, a lounge with fireplace and local dishes. The aurora is often visible directly above.
Winter guests ski, join dog sledding and aurora tours; summer brings hiking, kayaking and cycling. The lodge is about two to three hours from Tromsø by road. Book well ahead, as there are only 16 beds.
